“If railways were run properly, commuters would save 9 days a year”

Timely and revealing research from Dr Timothy Leunig’s (Dept of Economic History, London School of Economics) project, ‘The Effect of Ownership and Regulation on British Railway Performance, 1850-2006,’ was the subject of an article entitled Train journeys slower than in age of steam on page 2 of the Evening Standard 3 September 2007.
