Where does performance management go next?  Are the underlying principles of performance management valid?  Is a greater variety of approaches necessary for different circumstances (types of service, existing levels of performance etc.)?  What is the role of service users and beneficiaries in helping manage performance and deliver improvement? Programme Deputy Director Deborah Wilson was one of the speakers at the joint LARCI and IDeA* seminar on Performance Management at Local Government House, Smith Square, London SW1P 3HZ on 9 January 2009.

Due to popular demand for this seminar there is a chance that another similar event will be hosted later next year. Please register your interest to be short listed for another event with Nicola Bliss, LARCI Research Project Assistant: nicola.bliss@esrc.ac.uk

*(LARCI is the Local Authority Research Council Initiative (http://www.rcuk.ac.uk/innovation/partnership/larci/default.htm) and IDeA is the Improvement and Development Agency (www.idea.gov.uk>).
