Thursday, 20th March, 2008

Carol Propper has produced a podcast based on the findings of a project on targets in the NHS. The project examines the impact of ‘targets and terror’ on hospital waiting times in England. Using the natural experiment that devolution has brought about in the UK, they have been able to compare the English approach of so-called targets and terrror with the less formalised approach Scotland has taken towards tackling waiting times for hospital care to discover which one has been more successful in reducing waiting times.

Their findings are already attracting attention and were featured in an article in the Financial Times on the 3rd January.
